CommScope is the new alternative for bimetal requirements. Bimetallic wire applications include aerospace, automotive harness, battery cables, RF shielding, telecommunications, electronics, utilities and other industrial applications.
Bimetals are created by bonding two different metals into a single conductor. The result is a low-cost, light-weight alternative to using solid copper. CommScope manufactures Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA) and Copper Clad Steel (CCS). CCS is offered in 21%, 30%, and 40% IACS conductivity for specific needs.
Bimetal products are produced at the CommScope facility in Statesville, North Carolina. This facility is ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 registered.
