Telenor Sweden Selects IPTV Set-Tops from ARRIS

AMSTERDAM, Sept. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- IBC 2013 – Telenor Sweden will be deploying VIP2853 IPTV set-tops by ARRIS Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARRS) as it grows its TV service and offers an enhanced experience for customers.

Telenor will roll out the ARRIS set-tops into customers' homes in early 2014 - paving the way for new HD programming, on-demand services and high-quality IPTV viewing.  The VIP2853 features a removable DVR memory module which will allow Telenor customers to expand and add to the memory for recording their favorite programs to watch later.

VIP2853 – delivering high-quality IPTV
The VIP2853 offers a flexible way of bringing high-quality IPTV services, such as high-definition broadcast TV, on-demand services, interactive applications, and DVR/time-shift, as well as over the top (OTT) services, to the home. Powered by the ARRIS KreaTV operating system, the VIP2853 integrates with a wide variety of VOD, middleware, and Conditional Access (CA) systems.

The optional DVR module gives flexibility to support DVR and non-DVR customers with the same set-top box. The VIP2853 has a minimal impact on the environment thanks to its small size, minimal weight and low power consumption, meeting or exceeding the European Codes of Conduct.
