MANILA, PHILIPPINES – 01 July, 2016 – Discovery Primea, one of Manila’s premier business hotels, today announced its deployment of technology from Ruckus Wireless, Inc., now part of Brocade, to enhance its guest experience.
Discovery Primea Hotel, located in the Makati central business district, is one of the tallest buildings in Philippines. The Hotel attracts several business and corporate customers from the Philippines and around the world through the year. With today’s ultra-mobile business customers carrying an average of more than four connected devices and consuming a plethora of connected apps, rich media, voice and video, Discovery Primea was looking for a solution that provided its users a rich Wi-Fi experience. In addition, the hotel wanted a reliable wireless solution that enabled new guest services such as Mobile check-in.
The Hotel selected the Ruckus suite of Smart Wi-Fi solutions for hospitality to provide users lightning fast, secure, reliable Wi-Fi across the hotel. Featuring Ruckus BeamFlex™ technology that uses patented adaptive antenna and traffic engineering technologies, the solution is purpose built for hospitality customers helping prioritize and optimize latency-sensitive traffic to deliver a great guest experience.
“Reliable, secure Wi-Fi is critical to our operations here at Discovery Primea,” said Jojo Bisuna, IT consultant for Discovery Primea. “We run many guest- and staff-facing applications off our Wi-Fi network, including IPTV, mobile check-in, food and drink ordering and our corporate management systems. Even our door-lock system is powered by Wi-Fi.”
The Discovery Primea team knew from the start that the hotel’s Wi-Fi offering would have to be first-class in order to attract business guests. Working with partner MEC Networks, they conducted proof of concept tests with a number of providers to gauge how well their Wi-Fi solution performed. Ruckus stood out amongst all of them, with its Smarter Wi-Fi solution providing strong and stable signal measurement and full coverage span without dead corners.
